Unanswered Salutations

Unanswered Salutations

A Poem by Moonflower

You're a cockroach

Skittering across the exorcism of

this

Inebriated cataclysm

Dust falling into those

morbid cracks,

overgrown ivy

Winding

Six legs on severed

segments

A hard shell of

gleaming toxins

Your breath is

barbwire for

my soul

Don't scrape the

spine

bone against steel

and bloody

recollections of

unforgiving

escalation

Will we die this way?

Wrapped up in

an unholy extension

of

Hate, tongues

sliced by contempt

That snake coiled around

your legs

with a beating heart

and

Onyx eyes

Peering into the spirit

casting

shapes and colors

out into

some unknown disintegration

of my

own

mind

I blasted implemented

crucifictions

of diamond shapes

thought maybe

those

echoes would

burst into

chords and fractures

of

time, space, and a

grim salutation

IS there anybody out there?

I've screamed into

existence so

many

times

Shouting out into

molecules and atoms

beaming

electric currents of

ignorant sensibility

There are no rays of light

in the

deep, dark carapace of my

brain

We find only emptiness

in the

fullest of minds

I feel this poem is a battle to see purpose and reason in a life. I like how you write. It is like a Dante's book. Must read each line and understand.
"I've screamed into
existence so
many
times"
Most of us don't understand. I write my grief on paper. Few in my life pay much attention to what is happening in their world and life. I like the ending. We need people with spirit and life. Ain't many left. Too many people just are waiting for death. That is very sad. A outstanding poem.

This is quite possibly the most uncomfortable poem I've read, imagery wise. Which you should take as a very high compliment. Excellent write. Powerful imagery and emotions... very well done.

I'm not really sure what to make of this either. But it was written so wonderfully with all the screaming, powerful images. I loved. Be thankful; You're a gifted writer. :)

I think your darker work attracts me so because it reminds me of depression I used to collect when I was in a low place, and purged it into black pearls of poetry. You may feel no one can hear you scream in your vacuum of bleakness, but when you write like this... your voice is heard, trust me...

As individuals, we are misunderstood. The fullest minds are completely subjective to the perspective of the majority. I could see this poem being narrated over an indie film or something, haha. Very nice.
