The Gates

The Gates

A Poem by Moonflower

Light the candle
kiss the seal
Close your eyes
and see whats real

Unsheath HER blade
Call out the names
Hum the tune, Chant the praise

Pull down the moon
And howl his call
Demons awake
and Angels Fall

Feel your heart beat
Through your chest
The Ancient words
Rumble your breast

Feel the Earth's Quake
As Evil Seeps
Feel the secrets
Of the deep

HE awaits you
at the gate
Flights of demons
Unveil your fate
You Beseech HIM
With the Word
Begin Your Journey
Beyond this Earth.

Moonflower

Inspired by Aliester Crowley and My own rituals. A personal piece, the all caps has signifigance, I know it seems weird.

Hello Moonflower,

Or Desiree, I only know a little About Crowley, and what I know I enjoy. Do what you will. I thought this to be an intense piece. A fascinating little write and peek into your own train of thought.

Regards,

Matthew

I know musicians who would kill to write like that, truly epic. Would work great as a tune in my opinion...

Interesting piece with great imagery. I think that the various stanzas fit together extremely well. Reminded me of Tennyson's "Charge of the Light Brigade" (Half a league, half a league onward, / into the valley of death rode the six hundred). Congrats on this and I hope you write more.

The poem is very interesting. I stay away from rituals. In my young days i did many Native Americans things to find my heritage. Took me to many wrong places. I like the words. I prefer to stay focus on what is front of me now. I worry for the health of nature. A interesting poem.

I love how you slip words together, and capture what needs to be captured. And it's not weird to me....it's amazing work.
