I met myself

I met myself

A Poem by Moonflower

I met myself
today
on the dusty trails
of yesterdays
And I breathed a heavy,
guilt laden sigh...
and asked myself
a plain and stubborn
Why?

She turned to me
a burning glimpse of
sin
with a slightly bemused
grin
and said that it was all
worth while...

...but I'll never forget that smile...

I find this poem to be very dark. The duality here is really well executed. It is like lokking in a mirror of opposites. Really liked it.

I took this as a dialogue between you and your darker self, one is regretful, one is sinful. I'm just speculating, but either way it was an interesting read. :)

this is where you move on , and yes , never forget that smile

Lovely, sounds as if its about meeting the same person of yesteryear, or the future? I suppose its open to interpretation and thats what makes a wonderful poem. Congrats

Everyone should meet themselves once in a while :-)
