Dust to Dust

Dust to Dust

A Poem by Moonflower

My body

bears

these symbols

Vast and yet,

Unknown

Yin

Lady Moon

thy

Ocean Tides

With out

Darkness

There isn't

Light

Ankh

Our Eternal

Life

My Soul

Buried

within

Flesh

...Ashes to Ashes...

Snake

coiled around

Skin

Protector

God of sweet

Salvation.

Come to me.

I bear these

Markings

Engraved

with Ink

Imprinted

In my Spirit

...Dust to Dust...

i enjoy minimalism...the ability to empower a piece with a skeleton of flesh and still make it somehow meaningful / strong / aesthetic is a skill many poets will never know...you have this skill...

Again, I love the elegant minimalism. Has an Asian feeling, delicate, classic, subtle.

And there's a calligraphic beauty in having flesh imprinted w/symbols of fruitful darkness, eternal life, protection. . .

A poem about pictographic poetry on skin, as it were, ephemeral ashes, dust, the poignant dream of breathing.

Great imagery, though this one didn't hit me as hard as some of your other pieces have. I always have a harder time relating to this style of poetry, the disjointed words that form as a whole to create a poem. Nice piece.
