Broken Branches

Broken Branches

A Poem by Moonflower

My hand sweeps across the distance

Placing time in the fingers of resistance

Vast shadows fall across those evening hues

As the golden fields in my mind fail to shine through

And come in waves, shades of grey

That whispy figure stands, solitary and resilient,

Under twisted branches

Embracing the landscape

With soft eyes and swollen heart

Tear drops become the rain

of my imaginary place

Smearing the desolation where

my soul chooses to stay

You create beautiful and peaceful scenery. The words were kind and gentle. I like the feel and the emotion of the poem. I like the ending. A excellent poem. Thank you.

The power and serenity of a poets imagination. Takes me away to those dreamy lands escaping forever into the horizon :) Keep writing.
