Provisionality

Provisionality

A Poem by Moonflower

I fear
that my innocence is
broken
in a way that can never
be restored

and these kind of things
are not amusing
do not widen the horizons
but only close
into a darkness

If the universe is whole
but we are secular
important yet
only when implied

I never cease to wonder
if the facts increase
the questions and only further
complicate the
truth

Did you find destiny to be a bore?

I can never find
the reasons, and I fear I am
becoming disillusioned

Weakening

and losing all of those convictions
I once found to be
comforting

This is the world
and I cannot lie on a bed
of silk and satin

waiting for the knowledge to
come crawling on spindled legs
with craven eyes

Radiation waves skitter like
spiders across my
innards
racing into fanatical oblivion

I'm resting on the edge
of sour reflections
and I can't seem to find a way
out

Please, come find me
