Stage Fright

Stage Fright

A Poem by Moonflower

I never meant
to be a cynic

Never meant
to
bring
you
    down.

These past few months,
I've been a stranger

Living in
my own strange town.

But when my eyes

are open

  wider

When

 I remember

Here and Now

That reflection

in the

Mirror

Will recognize

this

Stranger's frown.

this is really cool, i love how you refer to yourself and the mirror reflecting a past you and that you plan on looking up and moving to a better place

Strong title .. an inner voice from the shadows , velvet curtains and the orchestra in prelude .. the stage of expectation , the audience of preconception ...

Thank you for the lovely review. I'm glad you enjoyed my new work. :)
The broken structure is artful and adds to the piece. This is easily relatable and has a nice flow to it. A good read :)

Love these lines. Yeah, sometimes life becomes so tough that we act badly. Did you ever notice how crabby somebody that doesn’t feel well can become? I like humanity in poetry all the trials of life. You did well with this poem.

Thank you.
I like the desire of this short poem. All of us fall into a bad place. Need friends to allow us to become okay again. I like the last lines. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
