Heaven Bound

Heaven Bound

A Poem by Desi's Journey
"

This A Poem About My Dad Who Passed Away When I Was In 3rd Grade.

"
One day you were there
Telling me that you were still here
Saying you weren’t going anywhere
Told me not live with any fear.
How am I not supposed to be afraid?
You’re leaving me forever.
But you told me to not give up so I prayed.
We were supposed to be together.
That very day you were gone.
Mother screaming and crying
I knew you weren’t going to see another dawn
My heart felt like it was dying.
I was young but I knew
But I refused to shed a single tear.
The words my brother said had to be true.
For I knew that you were forever here.
My brother said you are with the angels now
He said that you are looking over me
So when I look into the sky I always ask how?
I knew that everyone dies eventually so I would just have to let it be.
You are up there Heaven Bound
I’m down here crying but never making a sound.

This poem is beyond moving and its evident that the pain of losing your father is still fresh. I am sure your father would be and is (somewhere) proud of your talent. Good work.
