Dawning HoursA Poem by AlyssaDearest, the hours idle slowly by, When your sweet apparition does naught but flicker in my mind's eye. And longing's sweet melody, how softly it whispers deep in my soul, T'would be nonsensical to chastise any number of sleepless hours it stole. For in a single virginal sheet of paper, could I so simply find sanctuary for my restless heart, Such honey streamed words that from my lips ne'er seem to depart. For when I gaze on you but a moment, I can speak no more, With naught to do but gaze in silent appreciation on him whom I adore. Ah dearling, such is the warmth I bask in your loving gaze, And even with time's passing, still as yet have you to cease amaze. Darling, you are such vibrancy in a nightfall, such brillancy in a dawn, That urgency, the longing, slow burning yearning only you can spawn. oh, and how naught moves me more than the beauty of your smile, And oh, forever lost in your eyes, 'tis most unfair how they beguile. Ah dearest, naught could e'er equal your measure, Indeed love, ne'er has the been a more pricless treasure. For ne'er could I in anguish pine, nor pass a single moment sour, With you my love ever in my heart, in the soft lilting of the dawning hour. Alyssa M. Gandolfi © 2010 AlyssaReviews
