You Are What You Eat?A Poem by Alyssa
Commit to me an answer to my question, I pray.
For endlessly upon my mind doest it weigh.
Is it true you are what you eat?
For if it is indeed true, it shall perform a most longed for feat.
A sweet little bird to its love may it fly,
Upon strong wings, even wind it shall defy.
So if I were to consume a wing,
Would glistening plumes fan and spring?
A whale’s song so beautiful, the sweetest sound I’d warrant,
Wooing his love, to him she’ll come in a frenzied torrent.
So if I were to consume this large fish,
Would my voice send my love to me, my most wanted wish.
Upon my finger, this pretty little butterfly rests,
So gracefully this little beauty so trustingly nests.
If I where to eat beauty, to my love would I be most beautiful and complete?
Is it true, that you are what you eat?
