I'll Be

Don’t fret the last place you’ve see me lay.

I’ll be by your side, this I swear, I’ll never sway.

This shan’t be our farewell, don’t bid me goodbye,

When you feel lonely just turn your face towards the sky.

For I shall be the one wind that caresses your face.

Forever you’ll have the protection of my loving embrace.

When you feel trapped by sinister phantoms of night,

If you look closely, you’ll see me bring forth it’s solemn plight.

When your hurt and feel all alone,

Listen, I am the one whisper you’ll hear hiding in the breeze I‘ve blown.

In your many dreams as you cry and toss about,

Feel me, I am the one touch that shall calm you, with me you’re not without.

When the world seems to large and too cold,

I am the one warmth, from your soul shall I unfold.

And when at last you find yourself at death’s door,

Don’t be afraid, for I’ll be your wings upon which you may sore.

This one has to be another one of my absolute favorites from you. There are so many ways to interpret this poem. It's a message of hope when all seems lost in ones life. It's a message of solidarity when one feels alone. It's and oath of compassion-unconditional love.

"In your many dreams as you cry and toss about,
Feel me, I am the one touch that shall calm you, with me you're not without."
This is probably my favorite line of this poem as it really hits home with me right now.
