Peaceful In Her Sleep

Peaceful In Her Sleep

A Poem by Alyssa

A soft shiver, but then she shivers no more.
And a warm blanket donned be not what she ceases for.
Heat raised up suddenly high,
Also be not the reason she utters a contented sigh.
Staring about, you look for the cause to her knowing smile.
Look you no further than the place she lay, as her contentment stems off a different style.
For just behind her lay her loving man.
His arm sporting her waist, only he can make her feel cherished as no other can.
With him at her side you’ll hear her utter not a peep.
For only with him, can she be truly peaceful in her sleep.

This poem is very touching and very emotional when you really look into it. The idea that just being close to a lover is warmer than a blanket the security that she feels in his grasp, so much so she sleeps in true peace. That kind of feeling must have so much love and trust underneath, it's amazingly beautiful for such a seemingly simple thing.

As always, a great and insightful read.
