Where Is My Heaven

Where Is My Heaven

A Poem by Alyssa

Alas, where is my heaven?
A place so beautiful, my dour spirits it could leaven.
Oh that I could rest my weary feet upon its soft grounds.
Feet torn and bleeding from the worlds harsh and unkind surrounds.
Oh my heart is heavy, and my limbs feel so ill.
But not in my fair heaven, leave your aches and troubles behind upon the sill.
Alas, where is my heaven, I seem to have misplaced it, oh…
Where dreams are not dreams, but a dreamy state that just happens to be so.
Where be this place, so lovely and serene,
Where everyone has a shoulder upon which they may lean.
Where is my heaven, alas I need it so,
Where is my heaven, but I wish it to me you could show.

I really like this poem because you can imagine heaven being a plethora of possibilities: A beautiful place of peace and Zen, like a garden, the majestic forest under a pale moonlight in the arms of comforting lover, sitting together on the couch holding each other by a warm fire or even lost somewhere in a beautiful dream. All places where you can forget your troubles, have a shoulder to lean on or just be at peace.

A great poem and a beautiful thought. Thank you.

That is nice. A question that we all ponder.

I love the way you write
it sounds very medieval (you know like "I loveth the wayeth you writeth" but put into better context)
I can hear your cry for heaven... very well done.... :)
