The God of Destruction

The God of Destruction

A Chapter by Desert Dreamer
"

A dream fragment

"

Spring is here and the Poppies are opening to the warm sunshine.    The desert is alive with spring color and the ground is carpeted with green.  But still the shadows lurk...

I want to follow my dream to Baboquivari peak in the desert and find the laughing God of Destruction in the cave below the peak.  Is he there as I dreamed he would be?  He has wild dark hair, sharp canine teeth and large pupils that make his eyes dark and seductive.

In my dream my brother tries to warn me, tries to convince the wild God that I am no one, that he should not choose me, but I see in those wild eyes the eyes of a lover, the look that I cannot say no to.  I am already his.   He will sink his teeth into my neck in an embrace...

He will invite me to take part in destruction, to go to places where the desert has been bulldozed, to destroy the houses built in neat lines one after the other, to kill the humans who have overrun the earth.

I serve the God of Destruction.  His eyes are death and his invitation cannot be refused.

He will change me into a dragon and I will fly around the world, stomping, destroying and killing, continuing to follow until the world as it is known today is gone.  I feel sorrow for those who die.  And I see for a moment, in the eyes of this wild dancing God, sorrow for the dying ones and anger for what this culture has done to the earth, and then again he laughs and I see blood dripping from his teeth and we continue our dance of death and destruction.

If I go to the peak, will I find the laughing God?  Will I dare to look into his eyes?  I feel true fear when I look to the South and I see the distant peak on the horizon.  Why is he calling me?

Because he can.
Most people don't listen, never have, never will.
Most will pass this 'veil of tears' in a state of spiritual poverty, for being preoccupied with the destruction of Mother. Often without ever knowing anything of it.

Did the Men who lived here know those lines of buildings were an abomination?
Does it matter?

One cannot hear the voice of the spider, let alone the Dragon if your mind is filled with new cellphones and corporate occupation. If one is only hungry for pizza and burgers of questionable origin, how will he/she know the smell of sage?

Most will not interpret this story correctly either I suppose, as they might assume the author is of a, dare I say it?, terrorist mentality.
Actually, the death of this human existence is the result of improper care of the spiritual and the physical ground.
In that case, let reason prevail.
These fields need fertilization.
And as it has not come from the caretakers, they will in turn become the fertilizer.
If you eat the Dragon, you become the Dragon.
If not......
It all seems quite clear to me.
Thank you for sharing, Desert Dreamer.... I don't seem to dream as I should but my other receptors work very well...
Your poems and stories help me gain the full perspective.

This is such an overwhelming vision of darkness and depth.. seeing the destruction of the beauty of our world.. this desire and powerful presence. You have woven this dream with the haunting call of his voice.. speaking still.

I like this story. I know there are many un-holy ground in this world. I was station in South and Central American for many years. I went to the places where evil once control the area. The people near bye would not go there. They fear bad luck and demons taking their spirit. A spirit of destruction is nature herself. We live on cliffs. On open deserts. The great ocean won't show mercy. The tornadoes destroy without care. I like your story. To unit with a God of destruction and have great power. A very good story.
