Not Much of a Loss I'd Say

I haven't felt

Its presence for days

Far as I can tell

It wandered away

Not much of a loss

I'd have to say

I never had much

Of that matter grey

A striking truth Jim. The other day out of the blue I felt the pang of sinking and began to panic and struggle. But I realised that poetry had been at times the reliable flotation device and it eventually did bob me out of the blue.
