Even Atrophy

Even Atrophy

A Poem by Desert Knave
"

... sprints right past me ...

"
Even atrophy
Outpaces me.
No snail need heed
My fastest speed.
I'm not merely slow
I barely go.
The speed of rust
Leaves me in the dust.
What's faster than me ?
Even atrophy

I'm 62 and I'm feeling it. My legs aren't as fast or as strong as they used to be. I get weird pains I never had before, I don't sleep like I used to either.

They say wisdom comes with age. I wish it would bring some energy with it next time. lol

Good poem, Jim. :)

Thank you. 64 years old myself and I am really beginning to feel it. ~Jim

Nothing wrong with taking it easy, I shouted at the tortoise who recently overtook me on a walk.
Well, I say walk but it was more like a meander to nowhere.
Everything crumbles to dust eventually, so why rush to get there when you could just relax and take it easy, conserving your energy for when you need it.
I've been doing that since the last time I was on fire! 😃

Thank you. I learned, while driving, that hurrying invariably led to messes. ~Jim
