Consent (My Promise)

Consent (My Promise)

A Poem by Desert Knave
"

Something I wrote in 2007

"
I'll listen for the sound of,
Not the silence of, consent
If I receive no answer
I'll consider that dissent
No means no, as does maybe
And no answer does as well
Where you would that I could go
I will wait for you to tell
I'll listen for the sound of,
Not the silence of, consent
Of this you have my promise
On which I will not relent

Patience is the sound of waiting...
hopefully for the consent which will also not relent.

Love takes time....and the beginnings can be quite slow...
tortoises move faster.
