The Bones (Told Me)

The Bones (Told Me)

A Poem by Desert Knave
"

A pre-Halloween write that I think I will rework another time

"
I didn't bark at the moon tonight
As the bones told me it was not safe
(Ignoring the bones is not too bright)

I didn't light the bundles tonight
As the need not to was all too plain
(Won't use up juju until all's right)

I didn't bark at the moon tonight
Or call up the redhead on my brain
(But I bet tonight she's quite the sight)

I didn't cast any spells tonight
As the bones told me it was not safe
(They'll let me know when the time is right)

Oh, my favorites...Redheads...just something about them.

Maybe, I won't bark at the moon tonight either---at my age, I cannot ignore the bones.
