The End

The End

A Poem by DesEsseintes

The other day I saw the end of the world in my dreams

The world was all hills and valleys

Green and white

And the pink of humanity

There was general panic as the end was announced

People fled

Upwards

I remember seeing people crying

People’s screams filled the air

And then the water came

I ran too

I wasn’t even afraid

There was no ark at all

I made it to a hill which was very high

I was out of breath from the run

Then the water came

I turned to face it just as it hit me

I jumped against it and it took me

A feather against a wall of stone

It flooded me

It was grey and white and black and grey again

I was lost in the dark for ages before I happened to surface

I saw a bridge ahead

Was pushed into it

Trapped inside

Underneath the stone

Wishing I had been on top of it

I began to panic and wish for help

I was through the tunnel alive

But

I saw the way the water pushed me

I couldn’t suppress a laugh as I ploughed forward

I swear I was laughing as I crashed over the edge and fell

                Into God
