The Addict's PrayerA Poem by Jamie
He's wild eyed and crazy, looking for his fix.
He'd steal anything, kill anything, just to get his fix. He's broken and beaten, crying for his fix. They swear he used to be a saint, before the devil played his tricks, Now he's a half gone angel, praying for his fix. I guess he was caught between worlds that ruined his life, Caught between the worlds of the needle and the knife. Now he's scarred and drained, left without a home. He's twitching, barely breathing and he's torn to the bone, Now the addict's prayer is the only thing he knows. Yeah, he is red eyed and insane, dying for his fix He'd break anything, take anything, just to fuel his fix. He's a little cold and hungry, but he's starving for his fix. I swear he used to be a hero, before the devil played his tricks, Now he's a half gone angel, praying for his fix. Yes, the addicts prayer, this is how it goes, "Lord you can take anything as long as I get stoned, Yes, I'll drive away loved ones and even cause them pain, As long as I can feel that needle pierce my vein, Yes, I'll live in misery all my days, As long as it's in a drug induced haze. Cause I'm wild eyed and crazy, looking for my fix. I'd steal anything, kill anything, just to get my fix. I'm broken and beaten, crying for my fix. God, I swear I used to be a saint, before the devil played his tricks. Now I'm a half damned angel, praying for my fix."
