Foolish Love

Foolish Love

A Poem by Derek Barnes
"

I was pretty hurt after the end of a relationship I didn't want to end. How do I deal with it? Poetry.

"
You thought my heart was down for repairs/ but when it was looked at no damage was even there/ it never needed mending/ I turned the tables on you, you're the victim of my pretending/ maybe what I'm saying is true/ or maybe I'm saying this to see your face, shock value/ how about I play you as you did me/ you shouldn't treat us like a game cause I'm a better player, challenge me/ I'll destroy your myths with the truth/ it's a scavenger hunt for our reality and I've got all the clues/ turns out your never cared and I fell for your lies/ had my doubts, but I let foolish love convince me otherwise/ so this is how our story ends/ my heart's well and open for something real to begin..
