Love of Mine

One of many of my love poems. A reminder of how much of a hopeless romantic I am.

The story of my life has been building up to this chapter/ where you come in and begin to heal everything within me that was shattered/ you overlooked imperfections and only focused on the best in me/ showing qualities of the author of our salvation that set us both free/ we could never be perfect, but we could love perfectly/ as long as we both follow the one that should lead/ us through the chaos of it all and help us to be grateful for the beauty/ in our story because this won't always be the smoothest ride/ but, allow me to say these words that will always be sincere until the day I die..Take this love of mine and please don't let it go/ let it consume your heart and illuminate your soul/ it will bring you peace even when I'm not close/ my actions will always reflect what my heart wants to show/ the truest art of love that you will ever know/ how I feel about you will never fade/ you're my everything until my story has written its final page..

I like the way you set it up with the slashes actually. Instead of a bother, it's more of a reminder to pause where you want the reader to. As for the words, I do like the idea of love and I can see you do too. A book as you say, with chapters...downfalls and rising action. I can see how you admire this fairytale form of how love should be. Note: the 'please' 6 lines down unexpectedly pulled on my heart strings a little,, not in a bad way at all, just unexpected. I guess it's more about being desperate for this 'fairytale' love (in a good way) again. All in all I like this piece, so thanks for sharing
