Endless Wanderer

Endless Wanderer

A Poem by Derek Smith

All of these years you have been searching,
Wandering around aimlessly looking for your dreams.
To be honest it's been daunting.
You're finding out how life truly seems.
This journey of yours must be exhausting.
Lost without remorse.
You're lost in the forest of your own mind.
No moss on the sides of the rocks.
Trees blocking view of the stars.
No direction you can find.
For everything is an endless shadow.
Darkness covered you.
Dropped without conscious into the deepest seas.
Watching your precious moments flee.
Wasted in the winds.
Measured by failures.
Even after all those years wandering.
You've managed to learn not a thing.
It's a little haunting.
But that's what your choices bring.
You are the endless wanderer.
