True Gypsy

True Gypsy

A Poem by DepthWriter
"

Transported to another time, within a dream...

"
I slung the door to my heart open

walked through the arch, and hung

my soul on the peg...

Sat in the large patterned blue chair

closed my eyes to the beautiful day

dream't of charms, and mystical places...

I was taken way back, into the darkness

of an enchanted forest, where not a soul stood

but I, and my mind, opened its soul

...pulling in the scenery, breathing the breeze

of an era, before I was birthed from a seed

Drifting deeper into my dream, further than

anyone could imagine, opening doors, gates

and windows.. smelling the blossoming flowers

watching lives pave the future...

Floating atop the world on my mind, drifting in

and out of conscience, I found myself in the middle

of a gypsy campfire, singing along with them...

and as I lay so close to them, I try to fight this feeling

caught up in there smiles, laughter, and dreams

Burning the pain of the fire, till the storm, it melts

inside your hands, and the laughter increases, hearty

people in love with life, encompassed within the

Universe, birthing new suns, circumsizing the negativity

the kisses of endless dreams, touching the minds of

ravishing creation...

Soon they begin to pack up there kisses, hugs, and love

pushing along in the dark, making a path through souls

with the palms they call to the Earth, and as gently, as they

arrived inside my mind... the peaceful exit they took...

in the back of my eyes, I saw them trudging through the

mountain trail, until they disappeared into the distance

I woke a new person, wanting the freedom of the gypsy

caravan, they fought all odds, and merged through the grain

to new days, to beautiful days, to folk lores... staying true

to there ways.,, their memories stay near to the heart...

A powerful poem. I like the story in this poem. I was a Gypsy for 36 years. Good to know freedom and laughter. I yearn for the days today. I like the journey you took me with you in your words. Thank you for the outstanding poem.
