Damn my eyes! For I read your note at the top first, so, yes, of course, it was exactly perfect for the beach! But, after I read your second (bottom) note, I went back and read it again, blocking out the thought of the words, "Virginia Beach", and the second time I read it, I thought oral sex instantly. "your scent lingered on the insides of my nose". Which makes me wonder...how would I do with a Rorschach inkblot test???
I very much like the sensory description here, and (although I did not know until I read your note that it was about the beach) it is very descriptive of the beach...on the few times I made the long trek from Ohio to either coast my strongest memory is how as you get the closer the smell of the sea hits you. It's an intense feeling.
Great job

It is funny, now that I live in Florida and about 30 minutes from the beach; I cannot remember the last time I thought about going there. Yet, when I lived in Maryland and it was a three hour trip to the beach; it was something that I always looked forward to when I got the chance to make that trip.
There is something definitely calming about the beach, and there is no denying the affect that it has on us. The beaches down here are not the same as they are up there. Perhaps it is just the Gulf Beaches compared to the Atlantic Beaches, much in the way one might compare the Pacific and the Atlantic.
This piece makes me think about beaches in Maryland, Delaware, and even Jersey. It makes me think about beaches in North Carolina and South Carolina. I never went to a beach in Virginia for some odd reason. It does not make me think about the beaches in Florida though... it speaks of beaches that feel like home, and it speaks of them well.
HI!!!! It's been a LONG time and a lot has changed. I think the only thing that hasn't changed is my want to be a published author.
I typically write erotica, but i'm know to dibble and dabble in .. more..
