Like True Love's First Kiss (6.29.11)A Poem by DenyceMarieJust about a moment in time. I feared
that I would never again be able to embrace you, I was scared that soon you’d
leave me to melt away, I was terrified that my heart would never feel love
again. But, you once more took on the challenge of being together and I almost
cried happy tears as I read your 2 A.M. text messages. Then, the next day, I
crawled into your bed, under your covers, right up next to you, my heart louder
than an air horn, faster than a cheetah, more nervous than a girl on her first
date, and just laid with you feeling your amazing body against mine, our
breathing in sync, our eyes shut tight, a smile on my face. It was such a
perfect moment on a Monday morning that I wished it would never end, that a
picture was taken, that time would freeze. And, even though I was nervous, I
noticed that my feelings, my love, my admiration for you still had not changed,
that you’re the only one that can make my stomach so weak, the only one that
can make me smile when I’m blue, the only one I could ever love, that laying
next to you felt so right, so amazing, like the first day of summer, the first
time driving a car, true love’s first kiss<3 © 2012 DenyceMarie |
