Once

Once there was darkness
Once there was light
Once there was a garden
There was no one to fight
Once there was a woman
There was a man
Once there was first love
Once there was a sunrise that we watched together
Once in the beginning
As life awoke
Once there was good
There was evil
Once there was a battle
There was a fight between good and evil
By one sin entered the Earth
By another, a greater, Redemption was made

Once there was a choice made
Once thre was consequences
Once there was a sacrifice
Blood shed
Once there was a Victory
Once there was Freedom

But at a bitter cost
There is a new beginning
A fresh start

Most poems that repeat a word as often as you did the word "once" fail to impress, but yours is quite good.

"Once thre was consequences" I believe you left an "E" out somewhere...

Anyway, that being said, I love this. It has a wonderful flow, a very solemn tone throughout-as it should be, and a masterful ending.

The last stanza really ties the whole poem together by reiterating that because of Jesus' sacrifice we get to start anew and perhaps have a chance to choose between the two once more. I also love the repetition of "Once there was" It really presses to the reader that there will be no more-until we start over.
