Leonard KnewA Poem by DennisPersonal reflection on the song Suzanne by Leonard Cohen
As Leonard sang about Suzanne My youthful years slipped past But at the time I heard him sing I thought those days would last
Suzannes would come and they would go And Jesus waited for my soul Days of rebellion and days of bliss My traveling fate did know
Now past my prime and Suzanne days With fading memories on my plate I think of Leonard and understand Life rambles on and will not wait
And beauty seen upon the road Touched by our hearts and mind Is a treasure to be cherished A rare and precious find
