Chapter 10: Finding Out

 Shon and Suri stopped in Panga Village to get a quick meal. Usually the town was bustling with people, but it appeared to be completely lifeless.

 

"What's up with this place? There's like, no one here," Shon said to Suri.

 

 They looked in all the store windows and the little homes that were located on the outside of the village, but there seemed to be no one there. Shon and Suri continued to walk through the forest to find any sign of life. Soon they heard a voice not to far from them, "Shon! Shon, where are you?!"

 

"Do you hear that?" Shon asked Suri.

 

"Yeah it sounds really close," Suri replied, unsure where the voice was coming from.

 

 The two stopped in their tracks to see what was coming their way. There was a russel in the bushes, and a head popped out.

 

"There you guys are! I've been looking everywhere for you," Tyler said breathing heavily.

 

"Tyler?! What the hell, man?! Why are you hiding in bushes?" Shon yelled while clutching Suri's hand.

 

"Tyler, what's wrong? Why are you breathing so heavily?" Suri asked trying to unhook herself from Shon's burning hand.

 

"Um, Shon. I don't know how to tell you this..."

 

"Tyler, what happened? Tell me what happened," Shon was getting impatient.

 

"Um, can we just-," Tyler said suddenly pausing.

 

"Tell me what happened!" Shon exclaimed suddenly having fire cover his entire body. Suri backed away.

 

"Shon, Jennifer...she's...she's dead. I'm sorry."

 

 Shon calmed down, turning back to his regular self and fell to his knees with a sad look on his face. Shon's life had just flashed right in front of his eyes- all the days he spent with his sister fighting evil and having fun when they had the chance. Suri hugged Shon, crying to let him know that she would be there for him- no matter what.

 

"Tyler, how did this happen?" Shon asked.

 

"Kubar. He faded out her powers so she couldn't use them against him. I heard this from one of the slaves, they saw everything. They were caught watching and were killed after they told me," Tyler replied.

 

 Shon filled up with rage. Kubar killed the only sibling he was ever close with and he was not going to let him live to see another day.

 

"Shon. I know what you're thinking, and it's not worth it. Kubar will kill you," Suri said to her upset boyfriend.

 

"Suri, Kubar just killed my sister. He's not gonna live to kill another innocent life. You have to be with me on this. Jennifer has to be avenged, okay?"

 

"Okay," Suri replied giving Shon a hug.

 

"Alright then guys. Let's go."
