Chapter 9: Lies

Chapter 9: Lies

A Chapter by Denise

"Master, many of the slaves have escaped. Would you like for me to send out our best gaurds to look for them and the boy and girl?" Kubar's head guard, Marro, asked.

"FORGET THE SLAVES! WE CAN GET MORE. NO, INSTEAD I WOULD LIKE FOR YOU TO LOOK FOR HIS SISTER, JENNIFER. I NEED TO HAVE A WORD WITH HER, FACE-TO-FACE," Kubar demanded.

Marro followed Kubar's orders and went out to find Jennifer. Kubar demanded he go along even though the mission would require at least three men, but he could not argue with Kubar. He headed toward the forest as soon as the sun set, hoping that Jennifer would be there. Luckily for him, she was.

Jennifer wandered through the forest in hope to find Shon and Suri.

"Shon! Suri!" she yelled up at the night sky. "Where are you guys?"

Hours passed, and there was still no sign of the two "love birds". The air was warm and crisp, and the sky looked like a black sea of stars. Jennifer felt a little thirsty, so she formed an ice cicle in her palm and began to lick it like a an ice cream cone. She only took a couple of licks before it melted by the heat. Jennifer was getting tired, so she settled in for the night; her search for Shon and Suri would have to continue in the morning. She chose a spot by a small pond and a couple of berry bushes. Before she could close her eyes, Jennifer was held down by her arms and legs. She was to weak to fight back- the heat had consumed so much of her heat and strength they she could not defend herself. the more she tried to be freed, the weaker she got. Soon Jennifer fell deeply unconcious.

A little while later, Jennifer found herself in a dark room with walls that oozed with boiling lava. Her hands and feet were tied up and all her powers were drained out by the intense heat. Without her powers to keep her at balance with the scorching fire that surrounded her, she would soon die.

Kubar walked into the room a few minutes later, along with her kidnapper, Marro.

"GOOD WORK, MARRO. SO, JENNIFER, HOW HAVE YOU BEEN? YOU SEEM A LITTLE DOWN, WHY IS THIS?" Kubar stated in a horrific voice.

"I should......have known......that you...... were behind this......Kubar," Jennifer said slowly.

"WELL, WHO ELSE WOULD IT HAVE BEEN, YOUR BROTHER? HE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU; YOUR OWN PARENTS DONN'T EVEN LOVE YOU. THEY LEFT YOU FOR DEAD! YOU MEAN NOTHING TO THEM. YOU'RE AN OUTSIDER. A FREAK!" Kubar repiled.

"That's.....not true!"

"BELIEVE WHAT YOU WANT, BUT I KNOW THE TRUTH, JENNIFER. NOW, I'M GOING TO LET YOU GO, AND ME AND MY FRIENDS ARE GOING TO PAY YOUR BROTHER A VISIT. HE WILL NOT GET AWAY FOR WHAT HE'S DONE. DON'T BOTHER GETTING IN THE WAY, OR YOU'LL DIE ALONG WITH HIM," Kubar said, laughing an evil laugh.

Jennifer was cut loose and thrown out the layer. She was still weak from the extreme heat and her head was throbbing with pain. She could not move, she could not breathe, she could not think. Jennifer was dead.
