Chapter 2: Suri

 A few hours after leaving the battle field, Shon found himself flat on his back in a strange forest; he had somehow blacked out. The trees surrounding him were covered in moss, the ground was wet and muddy, and the air smelt like every living thing that was there had just died. He rose to his feet, brushed himself off, and began to walk through the loathsome bundle of trees. He had gotten mud all over him and his clothes were torn in certain spots. Suddenly, Shon felt a presents near that made his breath stop. He looked around, but no one or nothing was there.

 

 Shon started to walk again, but he kept having the feeling that someone was near. Finally, he reached a river where a beautiful, young girl seemed to be doing something with the water. Her hair was long and wavy, her eyes were an icey blue, and her skin was a beautiful tan. As Shon gazed at her natural beauty, he was soon disturbed by a cloud of dust that made him cough. She turned around and saw him as he faned the dirt away with his hand. Shon saw her walk towards him and suddenly got very nervous.

 

"Hi. I'm Suri," said the girl.

 

"I'm Shon. Nice to meet you," Shon said as he put his hand out to shake Suri's. They touched and it seemed magical. They looked at each other in a flirtatious way.

 

"So, you must have been given a gift by the F.i.w.e tribe,right?" Suri asked while wrapping her arms around her stomach.

 

"How'd you know?" Shon asked.

 

"I saw you crash back there in the forest."

 

"Yeah, I was actually born with them, but I didn't start using my powers until I was around nine or ten-years-old. The gift of being able to control fire. What about you?" Shon replied.

 

"I wasn't born with my gift. My mother went on a journey to find the F.i.w.e tribe so they would give me a gift. After my father was murdered, she thought that was the only way i would be able to protect myself. The gift to control water. Pretty lame, huh?"

 

 " No, that's not lame, it's pretty cool to me. What's lame is that , Alex, says he received his gift when he was born, but doesn't know what it is," Shon told her.

Suri began to laugh. It made Shon laugh as well. Her smile was so beautiful.

 

"So... where's your family?" Shon asked nervously.

 

Suri didn't answer.

 

"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend you or anything. I just... I just," he stammered.

 

"No, it's okay. My parents died when I was a little kid. They were out on a very important mission and they never came home," Suri replied.

 

"... I'm sorry to hear that. My parents are on very important mission, too, well at least that's what my sister told me. I haven't seen them in years."

 

"Oh... well, I hope they come home soon."

 

"Thanks."

 

 They took a walk through the forest asking and answering each other questions, when suddenly...

 

BOOM!

 

 The two were taken off their feet by something that struck the ground a few feet ahead of them.

 

 As the two rose from the impact, they saw a huge figure standing in front of them.

 

" What is that thing?" Suri asked astonished.

 

" HELLO CHILDREN! I'VE COME HERE TO TAKE OVER THIS PLACE YOU CALL EARTH. BUT FIRST I NEED A QUEEN TO TAKE BACK WITH ME, BEFORE I BEGIN TO DESTROY ALL HUMANITY! I GUESS YOU WILL DO LITTLE ONE," the hideous monster said.

 

" Who are you?!" shouted Suri.

 

" Kubar. He's here for us, get out of here!" Shon replied to Suri.

 

" No! I'm not gonna leave you here by yourself, Shon," Suri said.

 

 The two prepared to battle the evil Kubar.

I absolutely loved Kubar's entrance into the scene! It was great! It made me laugh! I'll leave a final review when I get to the end of the chapters posted. But I just had to mention Kubar's dynamic entrance first.
