Burn It All Away

Burn It All Away

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg

There’s a light on in a dark place

And I know now that it’s your face.

You’re a beacon.  You’re my lighthouse.

You’re the only kind of bright out.

So, burn it all away.

Burn and cast away

All fear.

My dear,

We will make it.

We will find a way.

I‘m the ship that’s cast from all shores--

An old hermit locked in red doors.

I’m the darkness.  I’m a shadow.

I need Cupid’s burning arrow.

So, burn it all away.

Burn and cast away

All fear.

My dear,

We will make it.

We will find a way,

So stay

With me.
