Movin' On to Meet Miss Wrong

Movin' On to Meet Miss Wrong

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg

She walks by in her hot high heeled boots
And I realize I don’t remember what to do.
She gives that look like she’s holier than thou
But I realize that she’s looking at me now.

I once had a clever quip,
A playful look,
Self deprecating humor,
A joke
To get her hooked,
But for the life of me
I can’t remember
The way I am supposed to be
To get the want of her.

But I’m looking for you now.
I’ve been looking all around.
For someone to show me how
To pull the string till I’m unwound.

I’m looking for my Miss Wrong
Because I’ve had my Mrs. Right.
She was what I was looking for.
Had her hooked, but she wouldn’t bite.
So my Miss Wrong please say you love this song
‘Cuz it’s all that I’ve got to get you today.
Come talk to me and it won’t be long
Till I remember the right words to say.

Blonde haired girls with their heads in the clouds.
Red-headed ones whose tempers abound.
Dark raven chicks oh-how can I pick?
And dear brown haired girls, at least the ones I haven’t kissed--
Yet!

God didn’t craft me to be a bach’lor for long.
I’ll find someone else before this night is gone.
I’ve got to find you my little Miss Wrong.
Not planning on staying long before you can move along.

She was right,
But she thought that we were wrong.
You are wrong,
So maybe this time it will be all right.
Mrs. Right,
I wish I could’ve made this right by you.
My Miss Wrong,
Not in for the long haul, but why not see what we can do?

Cuz I’m looking for you now.

This is amazing poetry. Could be a song. Most of us learn the pain of losing a angel. Then we learn to accept less. Complete poem was outstanding. Thank you.
