Biology NotesA Poem by Dennis Shanaberg
Baby, teach me your biology
‘Cuz I’ve got to know what it is you do to me With a flick of the wrist And a gentle kiss. You in my arms --unending bliss. Baby, we’ve got such chemistry. Chemicals reacted when you got close to me. The heat between you and I, The light in your eyes Mixing together to the end of time. Words unspoken, Secrets broken. An unintended ellipsis realized too soon. Our hearts whisper feelings silently in the dim lit room. Those feelings churning, Passion burning. Fantastical thoughts as the river flows on. The rivers flowing fast, but those feelings will be never be gone. Baby, teach me your psychology ‘Cuz I’ve got to wonder what it is you see in me. Is your perspective right In your beautiful mind That you’d want to risk being mine. Now, I’m adopting your theocracy ‘Cuz baby, you’ve made me begin to believe That maybe love is real And that I can feel ‘Cuz the feelings that I’m feeling couldn’t be more real. © 2011 Dennis ShanabergReviews
