Bend the WorldA Poem by Dennis ShanabergThe World's Always Changing...Why Don't You HelpIt’s time to get things in order Take control of your world. Don’t wait for anyone’s approval. The only one you need is yours. Someone once told me that everything was solid- That you’d always feel the ground beneath your toes, But I beg to differ with a finger pointing upward Because I know that everything can always grow. The world’s ever changing and so are we. So, how the hell are we supposed to be Able Be able To see Where We Should
Where we must go And all those we must meet Until we have met everyone and there’s no one left to greet. The ebb and flow Of space and time and every thing And all the new things that every new thing might bring. So bend the world To your will And we’ll start this spinning again. I’ve come to find that all it all is is jello Time is ever sloshing by, squishing between your toes. The only out’s to point yourself upward And with a shout and jerk; up and away you’ll go. The world needs changing, and starts with me And you with me if you indeed agree. So let us launch off And shoot up to the stars. Hitched a wagon to one long ago But never go tooooo far. Where must we go And -oh-who must we meet? Can we ever meet everyone till we’ve no one left to greet? The ebb and flow Of space and time on everyday And all the new things that every new day might bring. So bend the world To your will And we’ll start this spinning again. © 2011 Dennis ShanabergAuthor's Note
