MP3's and MTVA Poem by Dennis ShanabergA grunge song (remember the 90's)Just another day But she’s got somethin’ to say He says, “Back in the kitchen b***h” She says, “I’m so sick of...had enough of this.” A car pulls away. But still he will stay With his face in the mirror And the TV speakers blaring a new MTV premiere. He said last year he’d be a new man. A clean special man with a perfect plan. He said this year the same thing again. He looked back once and said look where I’ve been. Nowhere, nowhere. I’ve been nowhere now. Nowhere, nowhere. I am nowhere now. It’s the same old day. With more f****n’ s**t I’ve got pay. My dad said, “Life can be a b***h.” I said, “I’m so sick, so sick of, sick of this s**t.” I think I’ll be okay Even with the skies so grey With just another cheap old beer And my mp3 speakers blasting songs into my ears. I said last year I’d be a new man. A smart successful man with this plan. I said this year the same thing again. I looked back once more and said look where I’ve been. Nowhere, nowhere. I’ve been nowhere now. Nowhere, nowhere. I am nowhere now. Calendar on repeat- Red x’s cover the squares. Clocks ticking offbeat- In it’s face I stare. Calendar on repeat- Red x’s cover the squares. Clocks ticking offbeat- In it’s face I stare. I said last year I’d be a new man. A smart successful man with this plan. I said this year the same thing again. I looked back once more and said look where I’ve been. Nowhere, nowhere. I’ve been nowhere now. Nowhere, nowhere. I am nowhere now. And by this time next year, we'll be here again. © 2011 Dennis ShanabergAuthor's Note
