Legacies of Pilgrims and of PatriotsA Poem by Dennis ShanabergThey search for skeletons, so don't leave bones behind to find.
The Pilgrims who came weren't all their cracked up to be.
Cornucopia classics were far too happy. Presidents drowning in grand hypocrisy. Slave owners and cheaters who dole out money. But I am a patriot, baby- An explorer. Let me explore This land. I am a patriot, honey- Frontiersman. Let me conquer This world again. Oh-People will find the stories of old. McCarthy arresting for company goals. They will find the devil to which you sold your soul. And, Jesus, Columbus really was one huge a*****e. Oh-But I am a patriot, baby- An explorer. Let me explore This land. I am a patriot, honey- Frontiersman. Let me conquer This world again. For love, Not money. It was change I meant. Truth is-we all leave this life behind. With no friends, no money. It's all gone now, honey. They all will search for skeletons From friends, with money And you are all gone, honey. All we are left are their memories. The end is coming. What will be remembered of me? Legacy is all we have to leave. Not friends. Not money. It's all gone now, honey. Oh-But I am a patriot, baby- An explorer. Let me explore This land. I am a patriot- Frontiersman. Let me conquer This world again. For love, Not money. Let us change and mend.
