The Upstream Aquarium

I am in a tail spin
I’m fish tailing around.
I am in a fish bowl
My mouth is wailing out.
I am sitting in a school.
We all look the same.
We are all the same.
I’m in a fish bowl,
And there is no way out.

I’m going up the stream.
Thinking of where I’ve been.
It’s so easy to go back.
I just want to go back.
But I’m moving upstream.
I can’t go back again.
My head won’t let me back.
No, time won’t let me back.
I’m swimming up stream.

And if I jump,
I know that I’ll be devoured
I am bare.
There’s a bear.
And so I have to stay low
Like a coward.

I’m going up the stream.
Thinking of where I’ve been.

It’s a fishbowl.
Life.
There’s no way out.

This really cool. I like the fishbowl idea, like we are trapped and indeed "no where to go", also like we are always being watched, which goes with you idea we are all the same. Nice nice job!

Ha a feel ya, all being the same. You wind up at a university and all the sudden your name is a number. You're simply a statistic surrounded by tons of other statistics. It's a terrible reality. Individuality is just a delusion. Thoughtful write.
