For Juliet

For Juliet

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg
"

A love that was destined to end in tragedy

"

Way to surprise me.
Oh way to tantalize me.
Like I have never ever seen before.
I am so glad you walked through my door.

Oh babe
My lady
Where’d you come from?
Lighting flashes with the wind.
My love
Your lovely
Starry eyes light me raving.
I think that I can start all over again.

You walked through the deserts up to my door.
When I saw you, I had no idea what I had in store.
You had me captured in your smile before you knew.
In minutes, I knew that I needed some time with you.

Your eyes captivate, paralyze me.
Your skin warms with my touch.
Your fingers leave lines I will remember.
And your lips make my heartbeats rush.

Oh babe
My lady
Where’d you come from?
Lighting flashes with the wind.
My love
Your lovely
Starry eyes light me raving.
I think that I can start all over again.

I assure you that you’ve got me-locked me stranded
I can’t let you out of my mind.
And Hell I’ve been looking around-in vane-for forever
But looks like I finally found what I tried to find.

You so surprised me.
You have paradised me.
No one has done that ever before.
It happened the second that you walked through my door.

I can feel the instant attraction, the perpetual connection the narrator felt with this woman. There were wonderful images shown. I love how you went from her paralyzing the narrator to the end where it considers the attraction a paradise. The connection turned from a dream to reality and I love it.
