Teenage Living

Teenage Living

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg
"

The modern generation boils down to these

"

Teenagers of today
Lives that got away
Startling to me
To see
How far we’ve come.

Irritated
Inebriated
Overrated
Self-medicated
Depressed
Recess
School’s out for good.

High school  drop out
Will most likely end up in a far better frame of mind than I.
It’s said that to succeed
You have to be one of the one’s to make it out alive.
Not just living, but with life.

Teenagers of today
Lives that got away
Startling to me
To see
How far we’ve come.

Star fated
School kid’s mated
Procreated
Dilated
Home made porn
Baby born
Abortion, Adoption,
High school drop out
Will probably make it much father in life than I
How can I succeed
When the only way is to lie.
The only way out is to die.
There’s no living, no more life.
With no living, I’d rather die.

Really nice ending. This encompasses the world today all too well. A clear message is here and you say it well. amazing!

This was great. So many kids are this way, its their choice, sometimes they have no choice. Its sad to see kids live their lives that way, thres so many good things in life. I enjoyed this. Nicely done.
