Who is Inside?

Who is Inside?

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg
"

Invasion of the Body Snatchers: (It can happen to you!)

"

You had your body snatched
And now you’re taken over.
Body snatched-
Now your taken over.
Who is inside?
Oh-who is inside?

Because I can’t see the one I met
The day that I met you.
There is no one left
From the day I met you.
There’s nothing there
When I look into your eyes.
Now, I only see you
When those sad eyes cry.

Who is inside?
Oh-who is inside?
Because I can’t see the one I met
The day that I met you.
There is no one left
From the day I met you.

I hear you scream
And I think it’s over.
But it’s not-
You’re still a shell of her.
It’s not a mask
‘Cause it can’t get pulled down.
I hope this masq’s the last
‘Cause I think it’s hell-bound.

You had your body snatched
And now you’re taken over.
Body snatched-
Now your taken over.
Because I can’t see the one I met
The day that I met you.
There is no one left
From the day I met you.

Who is inside?
Oh-who is inside?
There’s nothing there
When I look into your eyes.
Now, I only see you
When those sad eyes cry.

Who is inside?
Oh-who is inside?

Heart wrenching in way, but very amazing. I like these lines

"I hear you scream
And I think it's over.
But it's not-
You're still a shell of her.
It's not a mask
'Cause it can't get pulled down.
I hope this masq's the last
'Cause I think it's hell-bound."

Those just stand out and speak to me in way. Good Job!
