Late Night Calls

Late Night Calls

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg
"

Dont make this harder than it already is.

"

Could it be possible that I missed your call so late?
The call that would decide yours and my fate.
With you on the border and me in deep.
You like another, and I can’t sleep.
Don’t make this harder than it already is.
Don’t make this something I don’t want it to be.
Don’t make this a dark and stormy nightmare.
Don’t make this all that plagues me at night.

I’ve got a life that no one could try to mirror.
If anyone tried they would just die in fear.
There’s this mix up and madness spinning in my brain.
I know anyone else would just go completely insane.
No one would know to lift up their eyes
To the skies
Drop all their lies
Or it’s their lives.

Could it be possible that I missed your call so late?
The call that would decide yours and my fate.
With you on the border and me in deep.
You like another, and I can’t sleep.
I tried to get you back on the dead line.
But the phone just buzzed dead in this hand of mine.
You cannot see what you have done to me.
And I cannot bare to tell you what I wish we could be.

I’ve got a life that no one could try to mirror.
If anyone tried they would just die in fear.
There’s this mix up and madness spinning in my brain.
I know anyone else would just go completely insane.

I need to stop and think things through.
I need to work this out before I talk to you.
Why on earth would I bring you into this?
At least this time, it wasn’t just for a kiss.

- Great lines
I Almost felt like this was a story in song version. I like how parts rhyme and others do not, yet it all goes together well. =]
