GasFueledFlames

GasFueledFlames

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg

Shut doors and shielded screens
Somehow it seems
Like you’re hiding something from me
Terse words and alibis
Am I a fool?
What do ya hide behind those eyes?

Oh I gotta ask
Am I’m going insane
Flickering falsehoods
Or just quivering gas fueled flames

Is it my awful anxiety
Or your insipid infidelity?
Maybe one is causing one
Either way,
It’s tearing me in twain

Rage is building
Cannot conceal it
Pressure imploding
It’s all That I’m feeling
Now, every minute
I’m second guessing
And every action
I am finessing
My words
Unsure
If what I said was right
Please don’t
Let this
Start another fight
Inside my mind
So preoccupied

Are they lies?
Or am I losing my mind?

Sooner or later. Lies rise to the front and the truth will be told Dennis.
"Shut doors and shielded screens
Somehow it seems
Like you’re hiding something from me
Terse words and alibis
Am I a fool?
What do ya hide behind those eyes?"
The above lines I liked. Seeking answers and trying to know the truth. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
