In Memoriam of an Immemorable Boy

In Memoriam of an Immemorable Boy

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg

Just justify your entitlement.
Responsibilities removed,
Stripped of wasted youth,
You have everything to prove.
Establish your sense of innocence
As you tell yourself your truth.
It's really nothing new.
It's just you being you.

Your personalities ill-remembered
For not having one at all.
You've never faced your problems
Just let the pieces fall.

You are the homogeny
Of mediocrity
That's proliferated
in Sloth.
You'll find your destiny
Is fatality
With only a whisper
and a Cough.

Burn another bridge, Dear Boy.
Cast them aside without a thought.
Old toys discarded without joy
Falling down to rust and rot.

Now, take your time and tacitly think yourself to death.
Perhaps, you'll do some good with that final bated breath.
You've lived a life of worry that poisoned all your friends
Till you found yourself with no one else up until the end.

Hello my old friend. The poem direct, honest and realistic.
"Burn another bridge, Dear Boy.
Cast them aside without a thought.
Old toys discarded without joy
Falling down to rust and rot. "
The above lines. We do without concern till we learn we are alone. It is okay. Learn, go forward and be kinder. Honest and powerful words shared Dennis. I hope you are doing alright.
