Unto the end...

Unto the end...

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg

I'm praying on bended knees,
Please just give me some peace--
Sweet release--
Even if it leaves me deceased.

Just one moment of respite
For this sorry despot
Desperate
Unto the end.

Oh kingdom come;
This kingdom's done.

The farse and the folly
That I oft embody
Faltering step by step
Cocky unto the end.

My new clothes left at home.
There's no one to let me know.
Naked, I stumble,
But I'm never humbled.
This bumbling fool tableaux.

Pushing on for the last time
I say for the last time,
Blocking the mind
That's leading the blind
Forward into time.

Unto each failure and f**k up,
I can't get enough of,
But never does it end.
Full steam ahead
Forward unto the end.

Amazing use of words and thoughts.
"The farse and the folly
That I oft embody
Faltering step by step
Cocky unto the end. "
I understand the above lines and I liked the realistic feel of real life and struggle in the words. Always a pleasure to read your words and thoughts.
