Scream Into the Screens

Scream Into the Screens

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg

I see you there

And want to reach and touch you,

But it’s all too cold,

And my breath fogs up the glass.

I hash a mark

Just to beg for your attention,

But it’s now too late

The moment’s ‘lready passed.

Reflection by

camera lens

To lose ourselves

In the love it gets.

Vanity

in loneliness,

Connections lost

The easier it gets.

And we scream!

Into the screens.

Oh-we scream!

Into the screens

Ever to remain unseen…

A man could be lost.

We would leave him by the roadside,

As we all are lost

With focused eyes we like to hide.

The world could end.

We all would know

Within an instant.

But we’d sit alone

Fed on new updates

By the moment.

It grows and grows

Bigger every second.

We shrink ourselves

To punctuation smiles.

Connected now

Like no one else before us

To live alone

Like there’s no one else at all.

The above lines are very true. Easy to lose things we needed. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
