nostalgia...

nostalgia...

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg

Nostalgia knicked a neuron tonight
Reminding me of things I can't let go
A necropolis of long forgotten nights
And faces now unknown:

Quoting things
Too drunk to sing
Whatever
We write our own notes.
A playful jibe
We're wasting time
Together
With ones once close.

But times, they fade away
Till you forget every yesterday
You search to place a face to name
And you'll "get together again someday."
And days they never come
Forgetting you've lost someone.
Family in the past off tense
Is naught more than acquaintance

May we meet again perhaps
Or in your memories might I last,
To visit when nostalgia speaks
Of days when you remembered me...

I believe all things fall into a complete circle.
"May we meet again perhaps
Or in your memories might I last,
To visit when nostalgia speaks
Of days when you remembered me..."
A above lines hold for the most of us. Thank you for sharing the powerful poetry for thoughts and emotion.
