bliss and beer...A Poem by Dennis ShanabergmehI want bliss. I want something more than this More than fading memories of friends Who said f**k you When my going got tough, who said that friends stay when s**t gets rough And they’re the hardest Right now On the turning point of my time And a withering of my life As my head pumps broken blood To a brain that is losing its mind With migraines of pointless pain That are making me go blind. Used to be the one leading But, now I’ve fallen in line And I’ll be the last one Till they’re payin wages in dimes But I got one And she’s all I got So the rest of em Can f**k themselves and rot. As I waste away, no bed for a cot Looking for a new one where I wont get shot. Dont think that’s askin for a lot But maybe not. I just wanna be free of here And be able to afford a beer That’ll make me feel better at the end of the day When I’ve finally gotten through all that s**t that ain’t goin my way. © 2014 Dennis ShanabergReviews
