reckoning

reckoning

A Poem by Dennis Shanaberg

I am disaster

malevolent mayhem

to tear you down

to a skeleton

of yourself

My mouth bluster

with damage & spite

but My eye stays ever calm

lightening you afire

then dousing you with tears

I grow more fierce

the harder they fall

I will be your reckoning

till you collapse upon yourself

Fear Me!

…but please,

i plead,

don’t ever forget me…

Strong words and thoughts.
"I will be your reckoning
till you collapse upon yourself
Fear Me!"
I like the reason and the purpose for the poem and the good closure. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

A poem where self reflection seems moot.
