Idealism: A EulogyA Poem by Dennis ShanabergI used to operate on deep levels of love, But the world seems to have had enough. I used to fight oppression with hands held high, But the system calls for those underfoot to die. The cyclical system that ever comes around. That repetition by definition keeps us down. Idealism is looked at as impressioned handicap, And the well of my own feels like its been tapped. I’d been told that… If you buck the system The system will change, But those who said it Are now Right Wing & deranged. They said to me… You have to give it your all; That is your call. Believe in yourself, But it is all going to Hell. Cuz… I fought the law And no one seemed to give a f**k. © 2013 Dennis ShanabergFeatured Review
